In “Charred Hope” my story for Love’s Perilous Road, I wrote that the innkeeper served my hero pancakes. One of the beta readers asked, “Did they call them pancakes?” Yes they did! I had the same question and had checked on the word usage.

Etymonline the etymology (history of words and language) dictionary said “thin cake of batter fried or baked in a pan,” c. 1400, panne-cake.” My eagle-eyed Bluestocking Belle friend also researched. She found a recipe for medieval pancakes! So there you are.

Then I will work on “Music in the Night” for a Dragonblade collection that will be called “Dukes All Night Long.” More on that later. But first, coffee!
