The Bluestocking Belles met yesterday. It is always a challenge to get everyone in a conference call due to the spinning earth. We have members in Australia, New Zealand, San Francisco, Florida, South Carolina and, of course, the urban wilds of Eastern Pennsylvania. We were plotting our next holiday anthology. Our overall story trope is “the prodigal child,” and we already know the time periods will range from 840 to the 20th century. The stories will all include the same four story elements specified by winners of our Valentine’s Day contest.

A hint you ask? Here’s just one of them: the secondary character will be very superstitious. Hmmm. This is going to be complicated, but I think I’m up to the task. Now if I can just decide between my 1918 story idea and my 1842 idea… Either one might just include something from my previous work.
But first, coffee!
I think we’ll have another winner on our hands with this set! Coffee is poured… time to get to work!
I have my characters and a starting point for the story. I have a contemporary novella to write first, and then this one. And another 70 pages of novel to get to the editor.
Make it a big coffee.
I only managed 800 words so far today! I’m brushing up on my Beethoven for the widower story.
